  2. Music Recommendation #1: GREAT MAN THEORY

    Some writing I’ve done.

    jointhecolony:

A thing we’re going to be doing is to promote music we particularly like. Here’s our first, written by Chris.

    GREAT MAN THEORY

How this band came into my life is one of sort-of coincidence and good timing, and two lonely bassists at a bar. It was a meeting like those seen in romantic comedies, except this time between two straight men, some beers, and a love for the lower end of the frequency. Totally heterosexual, I swear…

  9. Hannah. This was such a cold shoot.

  10. My first foray into event videography.

  11. This is just odd. I took this photo at a gig my old band, Starblind, did with a band called Crows. At the time I remember being blown away by the talent in this band, thinking “fuck, I’ll never be in a band like that.” Now I’m a member of the very band this is a photo of, and we renamed to Last Transmission. That’s even my bass amp on stage - it was a sign!

  12. Emma Wright again. These photos are ancient, but I love how this one looks.

  15. Gaming in 2012, a Rant of Sorts.

Yes, I write things as well as take photos!

I play games. A lot. I’m like any other every day 24 year old male, I like the escapism from the mundanity of modern living that gaming provides. I’ve been playing games since 1992, so I like to think of myself as a connoisseur of fine gaming. A gentleman of the deathmatch. A travel writer of Tamriel; I’ve been to Morrowind, Cyrodil, and Skyrim, and even set foot in the earlier ones. Scarily enough, two of those three didn’t throw up an error in my spellcheck. I was there for Call of Duty 1, don’t you know. I say this, sitting in a smoking jacket, taking draws from a finely crafted pipe and sipping on a fine scotch. I actually feel like an old man of the gaming world nowadays when I say ‘those were the days’ when I think back to Fatal Racing, Slipstream 5000, Sim Ant, Transport Tycoon Deluxe (my god do I love OpenTTD) and the like.

Read on if you’re a grumpy old man like myself…
